Back Home

Well we got back home yesterday. It was not fun coming home to this cold weather. We spent our last day in Hawaii whale watching, snorkeling, swimming, and shoppping. We took a whale watching tour which was amazing. It was fun to see the whales so up close.

This picture is for Mike. Mike has this little obsession with Home Depot. He has a goal to visit every one in the world. So we had to stop at Home Depot in Hawaii and go in. I took the picture just so that he could have bragging rights. (It must be a guy thing)

Surfs up!

Yes, can you believe it? We all took surfing lessons today. (I even lived to tell about it!) It was a lot of fun. I never thought that I would be able to get up but I did. The kids all did really well. Ashley took to it like a fish. Garrett and Brittney got really good at judging the waves. Mike and I were more cautious so it took us a little longer to get the hang of it. We had to use a disposable water camera so I won't have pictures for a while. (We sure are spoiled with these digital cameras.) I can't believe that we leave tomorrow night. I don't know if I can handle the cold weather. Well I will see you all soon. Love you all.

Just another day in Paradise

We ended the day with another beautiful sunset. We had went down to the beach to watch the sunset and were able to see more whales they were pretty far away but we could see them jumping.

Earlier in the day we went snorkeling which was amazing! From just a few feet off the shore I was surprised at all of the fish you could see. The coral was beautiful and the fish were like the ones you see on tv very colorful and tropical. It was so much fun.

Road to Hana

Today we took the road to Hana. It was so beautiful. I took a lot of pictures here are a few. There were waterfalls all along the way. We played on the black sand beach and ate lunch there. We went beyond Hana to the Haleakala State Park. Here we went to the Oheo Gulch. There are pools all along the gulch that you can swim in on calm days. (Today was not a calm day, they have had a lot of rain there the last few days which made it very dangerous to swim in.) It was so tropical and gorgeous I just don't even know how to describe it.
Well love you all.

Maui day 2 (Hula Girl)

Well today we decided to play on the beach all morning. We had our first Whale sighting which was amazing. We spent the afternoon at the Maui Ocean Aquarium. After the Aquarium we went into Old Liahana and did some shopping. Ashley finally found a Hula skirt and could not wait to get back and wear it.

Maui

Well they call Maui the "Island of the sun" and guess what? We have not seen the sun since we got here this morning. It has rained all day. We took a drive around the western side of the Island it was a curvy narrow road in some spots but it had awesome views and even though it was raining it was still 70 degrees outside. When we got to our condo I had to take this picture of the girls room. I thought the hula girl pillows were adorable. We took a late night stroll on the beach and washed some clothes. It is 9:00pm here and all the kids have crashed. I think we have completely worn them out the last couple of days. I think tomorrow we will sleep in!! Love you all.

Aloha

Aloha everyone,

We arrived in Hawaii on Monday. Upon Ashley's request, we went to the beach and watched the sunset. We spend Tuesday at the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was a lot of fun. We learned to Hula, weave and went to a Luau.

Today we went to Pearl Harbor and visited the USS Arizona Memorial. We also expolored the USS Missouri which was a lot of fun. Mike wanted to see more, of course, and made sure we saw everything possible. Tomorrow we are flying to Maui. Love you and will keep you posted.
