Pumpkin Carving

Every year my mom and dad have a "Pumpkin Carving Party". All of the kids love to bring their pumpkins and carve them with their cousins. I go for the food. Mom and dad made homemade chicken noodle soup and Taco soup. It was sooo good and the homemade breadsticks were awesome. Thanks mom and dad.

Plans for new house

Mike and Travis tearing all of the tiles off the sides of the old house. Thanks Travis for the help.

This is Mike's grandparent's old house that sits on the property. It will have to be torn down before building can begin.

This the land next to the house where we will build.

Too Busy

Finally I feel like I have time to sit down and update my blog. So I think I am finished doing my canning for the year. (Yeah) It has been a very productive season. I did Salsa, Spaghetti sauce, peaches, pickled beets, grape juice and yesterday I ended the season doing 6 batches of Peachberry freezer jam.

While all this was going on Garrett's football team is still undefeated. They are 6 and 0, with four shutouts. Go Falcons!!

Brittney turned sixteen in August and got her driver's license. In September she went on her first date to Roy High's Homecoming Dance. Man do I feel old! It is so hard to let your kids grow up.

Last but not least, Ashley started school at a new school this year. The first few days were really hard, but now she has made some new friends and is really enjoying it.

Football Season

It's once again time to get out the umbrella's, the lawn chairs, the blankets, and any other thing you might need to watch a good football game. Garrett's football team started playing three weeks ago and It looks like it is going to be another fun and exciting season. So far they are undefeated 3- 0. This picture was taken right after last weeks win.I am going to try to post their rankings somewhere on my blog. But in the meantime I just want to tell the team "Great Job, Let's go West Point Falcons!!"

Camping at Rockport

It was the Clarks annual camping trip last week. This year we went to Rockport. It was a blast! We spent one day in Park City doing some school shopping, one day at the dam doing some boating. We even got the "Hip Grandma" to take a ride! The kids had a lot of fun riding the tubes and playing with cousins. We spent the other days relaxing and tubing down the river. It was a great camping trip.

Thanks Mom and Dad

Running

Call me crazzzy!!!!! I decided that I wanted to run another marathon (26.2 miles) this year. Why? I don't know. I have tried and tried to figure out why a person pays $60-$100, gets up at 4AM to be at the starting line by 7AM, and then runs their guts out for 26 miles.

Is it for the views (which were awesome) , the friends you make along the way, or for the fact that if you are going to run 26 miles why run it alone? I may never figure out exactly why I did it, but I do know that the feeling you get when you finally cross that finish line is amazing.
Maybe it's just the idea of setting a goal and accomplishing it. I am not an athelete and I don't know if I will be running any more marathons but it is a great feeling to say "I ran a marathon! Me, a 40 year old mom, I did it."

Memories

Here is a fun thing to try. (I got this from my sister Amber). It will only be fun if people play along.
Thanks

Here is how you do it-

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember.

2. Re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Life's Joys

This is my joy in life!
Being a mom has taught me so much. I know that my biggest responsibility is to raise children that will live with integrity and have good values. Every day I am learning how to be a better mom and how to teach my children to be positive contributors to society. I am not perfect but I am willing to admit when I am wrong and try to do better.
